A(ll)E(element)Athletics® combines the strenghts of Kundalini & Ashtanga Yoga with Chi Kung, Tai Chi, Dance physical theatre, breathworks for singers and actors and martial arts.

It is an ideal trainings-method for EVERYBODY, who likes to combine physical and mental challenge with inner energyworks.

AEA® gives you a full body work out, enhances your balance, coordination and muscletone and
let´s you dance with your inner shadow in a playful manner. By that your aura, presence and communication-skills are improved which has a major impact on your whole personality!

Albert ALEL Kessler started developing AEA®after graduating the Academy with his PerformingArts State Diploma in 2001 and finishing a private Martial Arts Instructor Academy in 2002. He ever since worked on his system testing it on his own body & mind.

AEA®can be practiced by any woman or man at any age, fitness or art-level.

Goals, Principles and Tools:
Synopsis: AEA® works with the fire-energy in the chakras (l.b.) channeled into free energy to strengthen the organism physically and balance it energetically!

In Detail:

Kundalini Yoga has the goal to slowly awaken“the serpent“, symbol of the highest energetical potential of a human beeing, sleeping in the lower spine, with the potential of leading each organisms to it´s „maximum-self.“
The most common picture is, that when awakened it will travel up within the centre of the spine into the brain, causing a certain form of yoga-enlightment.

chakra womanOn its way it passes certain energitcal crossroads, where several meridians nerves and bloodvessels come together in an energetic-organic roundabout. These „spinning-wheels“ of energetic and organic traffic are called CHAKRAS and have specific characteristics according to their location along the spine, their druses and organs that lie near to them. („chakra“ means „wheel“ in sanskrit)

These characterstics differ from basic emotions and personality-types to spiritual sences and guides.

The principle, how AEA® yoga works
is a simple procedure: however befor understanding it you need to get familiar with four techniques: the first from yoga, the second from tai chi the third form physical theatre and the fourth from Chi Kung.

Technique 1.) Fire breath:

a cleansing exercise, in which short explosive breaths are combined with pulling the stomache in abruptly and letting go with impulse creating heat and fire, which burns all sorts of toxines (mentally and physically)

Technique 2 „shifting“-Tai Chi:

In Chinese tai means flow, chi means energy. Tai Chi therefor means „Flow of Energy“ It is an energy work out, in which the body energy „chi“ is brought in motion from yin (receiving) quality to yang (outgoing) quality. The basic technique is to shift your weight from left to right foot, and thus directing the chi from yin to the yang part of your body.

Technique 3 „Emotional Chi“:

is a combination of the Fire Breath with

the emotional aspect of a chakra: we create emotional

Chi by starting the fire pump not just in the whole

stomache, but in the specific aerea of the chakra, pumping

the specific-chakra-emotions „out“ of the

chakra…(personal memory and experience about

the emotion can be added to make it stronger), this kind of

„feelible chi“can be directed, channeld and used as it is needed

(for Instance in the tai-chi practice, or for acting in a scene)

Technique 4) Packing Chi into the organs/chakras:

This is derived from the Iron Shirt –Chi KungTechnique from Shaoling Kung Fu,.Here air is pressed into the organs little by little to strengthen the fascia around the organ and thus giving it a special protection.

The AEA® technique:

Concentrate on the chakra, start to trigger emotional chi by using the fire breath with physical contractions in the muscle aera nearest to the chakra (starting wit the negative emotion). Use handmudras, sounds and imagination to make the emotion stronger letting it travel along the spine and spreading it through your entire body,.

Collect the energy in the chakra and organs near to the chakra.

Direct the energy into the yin side of your body and deep down into the ground with long breaths. Make sure you have a straight alignment in the rest of your body as you stand with full weight on one foot. Then collect the energy in the chakra while shifting to the Yang –side of your body, and let the emotional chi again flow throught the other leg into the centre of the earth. Have the feeling that the negative emotion not only is burned in the fire but also flushed out of your body into the hot core of the earth.

This exercise should be repeated several times and varied by using different pacing, breathlengths and muscle tones.

Then the Chi Kung IronShirt technique can be added. By now pressing the positive emotion of the chakra into the chakra and the surrounding organs and thus inflating them bit by bit, so they get positvely energized. This is done until there is no space more for inhalation and the air is let out on a special healing sound causing the emotion to slowly rise from the chakra in both directions of the spine, and at the same time training the breathing muscels that you need for singing long and high notes.

Depending on the style (performer, fighter, lover) an additonal physical exercise which is related to the characteristics of the chakra can be added to the energy work….

After every second chakra the Ashtanga Yoga-„greeting to the sun“ is performed twice, to disperse the energy in the body,

We do that until we have reached the heartchakra.

Here new Asanas are combined to each high chakra some of them very subtle and more connected to meditation. After the last chakras (crown and light) and the related light meditation a last dynamic sungreet concludes the first AEA® sadhana.

Variations of AEA®.
Beware these variations are quite different to the Basic Training, the principles are the same but the focus is shifted to the style that we want to focus upon. Especially the PartnerYoga is category of itself!

AEA® floorbarre YANG-style:
a complete sadhana (using the chakra system) in lying position, similiar to the dance floorbarre, pilates (matclass) and gyrokinesis. Very physical and highly energetical (sweaty).

For „performer“ and „fighter“.

AEA® floor Yin –style (Ida Pingala):
A complete sadhana in sitting/stretching/lying position workin the yin canal (ida-mooncanal) and the yang canal (pingala-suncanal) in very soft slowly yin-style. In this case not using the chakra system instead a lot of stretching, holding, breathing. Ideal to balance the organism after a strong physical work-out the day before.

Special pressurepoint massages can be added to make the session more realxing….

AEA® for the Performing Fighter (STAGE-COMBAT),
was successfully trained in the Street-show project „Pirates of Penzing“.

A lot of exercises already are in KUNDALEL® yoga BASIC (for the performer). Specific fight choreographies and fight-improv-techniques were developed in addition.

AEA® for the Fighter (Martial Arts),
has had quite a bit of development over the last 3 years,.. a lot of exercises already are in the „floorbarre“ and „basic“. But a very interesting aspect has been added in the partner work. The principle of the „massage-sparring“ very commonly used in the russian martial art form „systema“ or „kosak spas“: here the sparring partners are willingly accepting the hits of their partners by dispersing the energy through breath and relaxation techniques through their body in the ground, and sometimes back into their arms and legs for a „natural“ counterattack. more information on the youtube blog: alel art „all element athletics“

AEA® for the Singer Facebook-Dates
has the same procedure as Basic, but the emphasis is stronger on the breath control and the Asanas/ are held longer. A vocal workout follows the physical workout on a meditative chakra-tone singing basis.

AEA® for the Lover (Tantra-Partner Yoga)
Is a yogic partnerwork derived from the Tantra, Tao-tradition and contact-improvisational dance-arts.

KUNDALEL® yoga for the performer is the base here too, but the special dance and tantric exercises are done with a partner of the opposite sex, or possible sexual preference ( in case of homosexual oriented students) in standing and sitting position.

No sexual conduct is performed during the training, however a strong focus is put on the driving force of the sexual energy in the lower chakras and the intent to direct and transform it through all emotions of the chakras especially into heart crown and back into the navel of yourself and the partner. This will always create a certain atmosphere of emotional and sexual intimacy among yogi and yogini, even with clothes on… exercises of the sences in combination with dreammeditation and healing are also an important part of this sensual KUNDALEL® yoga style.

Complete description of theTraining System:

WARM UP:

KUNDALEL® BASIC, emotional cleansing from root-(Mooladhara) chakra to heart (Anahata) chakra, in standing position and standing in circle.

After Anahata, a circle is formed. A heartbeat-ryhthm is established through stamping and heavy breathing. Then each yogi or yogini presents themselves to the circle. This starts of with a simple emotional bow and can be repeated- depending on the size of the group- two or three times, each time giving the soloist a little more time and space to eventually perform a highly emotional solo to the topics: fear, desire, sadness, anger and love. The music usually is generated by clapping stamping and humming of the group…. every slight emotional outburst of the soloist is gradually cheered and clapped upon.

It is not so important to show any dance skills rather than open up emotionally as much as possible, so the group can see and feel you. Any grotesque, funny and bizarre interpretation of the emotions is highly welcomed!

The heat eventually is cooled down by a „hum-clump“, in which all members of the group come together as close as they can and with their eyes closed experience each other with a gentle but clear touch of hand and fingers (cat paw). The music now is warm humming tone generated by the group which can vary in very simple harmony.

HEALING

Now couples are formed. Usually the ideal couples „find“ each other during the „hum clump“ but the teacher can also let the girls choose. It is recomended to start of with somebody you know or are familiar, like a friend or a lover, but it is even more recomended to change the partners as soon as you feel ready in the following trainings because the effects are much stronger with somebody you have not been familiar, or intimate before.

Now a healing session is performed. One taking the role of the „healer“ the other the role of the client. The healer lays his hand gently on every vital spot of the clients body ( chakras, organs, nerve ends asf) however avoiding to touch the intimate parts. The partner actively „sucks“ the imaginary light from the healers hand in and spreads it through the body. Then roles are switched.

CONTACT IMPROVISATION

Going forhead to forehead we unite the Third-Eye (Agya) Chakras and start moving around intuitively with eyes closed each time either yogi or yogini leads. We keep our eyes closed and start exploring us with all our senses and inner vision. (second Agya Chakra) The partner-dance eventually will become more physical after opening our eyes in the end and as we go into leading each other around one another and taking the weight of each other always changing the role of the leader and the role of the follower. (here soft rhythmic worldmusic can be played from a soundsystem).

TouchQuality/Creativity

The quality of touch through the Elements: Wind Fire Water and Earth (chin chakra) should be worked with a lot of creativity (Vissudhi throat chakra) into the improvisation, which now in a second short circle improv is presented to the rest of the group couple by couple, always cheered and clapped at at the end….

The couples get back to their sensual dance,which now travels to the…..

FloorContact

ground and the couple should be rolling around the floor trying not to bump into the other couples or the furniture, always finding a very subtle and mindful way of putting their weight ontop of the partner, variatons can be made by rolling underneath the partner and thus transporting him or her over the ground, and lifting the partner completely. Especially taller men or people with more weight than their partners have to sustain their full weight with arms and legs in order not to put too much pressure on their partner´s physique. During this physical contact improvisation a lot of constant feedback should be given to one another („Yes I can follow“, „this is good“ „ I feel you“, „ you can give much more weight, I can take it“ ,asf) to create trust and bond between the partners .

Body/5Sences/Meditation

Lying on the ground a 5 sences meditation should conclude the first part of the KUNDALEL® Partner Yoga.

BREAK

During the break all yogis and yoginis are required to change their clothes and take a quick shower if needed, as to use perfumeoils and breath refresheners to be prepared for the second more intimate part of KUNDALEL®Yoga for the Lover.

KUNDALEL® PUJA (honouring each other)

PARTNER-CHAKRA-WORK

The former couples come together and sit on the ground intertwined into each other (partner lotus sitting position).

A sensual puja massage opens the second part. One partner lying on the back, their legs still rapped around the pelvis of their partner, while being gently carressed from lower spine to crown, along the arms, legs and back to lower spine (the intimate parts still being avoided, however the quality of touch is highly erotic).

After switching treater and treated one, the couple goes back into the lotus sitting positition.

Now there is physical contact of the chakra spots, however all still with clothes on!

The couples perform the same principles of KUNDALEL® Basic now in couple and with contact. Each chakra is emotionally loaded up with contractions and firebreath, then the emotional chi is directed to the feet and out oft he body. Then the positive emotion of the chakra is built up with the Chi Kung-Technique of „packing“ and slowly directed into the heartchakra.

The partners are in constant sitting embrace and especially in the emotional fire breath will have the feeling of simulating a sexual act, the fusion of the hearts however always will transform the raw sexual energy into love energy and cool the heat down. The loading and releasing is performed several times with each chakra (every time the intertwining lotus position can be changed, for instance: left own leg over right partner leg, right over left, both legs on top, both legs below),until an energetical balance can be experienced.

Partner-Stretch-Yoga

Before going to the next chakra a partner yoga-stretching exercise is performed to prevent the couples from tensening up…

5 Sence Meditation/Feedback/Dreamjourney

Starting from Vissudhi Chakra (throat) a 5 Sences Meditation and Feedback is performed in which images caused by taste (chin chakra) -no french kissing in the first sessions!-, smell(small Ajna chakra); touch and look of the partner are whispered into the ear of the partner (voice/Visshudi Chakra). The feedback should be poetic and positive in the beginning. After some sessions it will eventually become a whole dreamjourney in which also negative emotions and impulses will be transformed and dissolved. The feedback/dreamjourney is performed in the connection of AGYA chakra (the third eye).

A Savasanah (lying postion) in which only the crowns (lightportals) touch each other ist the prelast state of the KUNDALEL® Puja, then the contact is dissolved and each yogi/yogini concludes the Puja with a meditative „look back“ of the puja from the last to the first stadium, incorporating all the new experiences and revelations as a gift and thanking the partner with a long bow and the words „namaste“ for it.
